...you had no idea it was made with a 3D Printer
Does it look like a photograph? Look again. This is a 3D painting, also known as Hueforge, an innovative method of 3D printing artwork.
By printing tens of ultra-thin layers, it achieves perfect color blending.
The artistry lies in crafting the visual and selecting the right colors to create a convincing image.
This picture doesn’t do justice to the 3D effect you’ll experience in real life.
Cyanotypes are not new, but true grayscale cyanotypes are rare. Typically, grayscale is achieved through image dithering, which looks good from a distance but reveals flaws up close.
I developed a unique method using various software and a resin printer to create true grayscale cyanotypes from my photos. This technique wasn’t intended for such use, making the art of mastering it even more special.
This vase is crafted from concrete, not plastic.
I specialize in designing a variety of household and decor items using plaster, concrete, and other moldable materials.
The artistry lies in creating unique designs and the intricate molds required to shape these materials.
Everything you see, but raw materials and some small hardware, is made by me in my small shop at my house. Artwork frames are 3D printed, photographs are mostly my own or public artwork and cyanotypes are printed on my own resin printers.
Not all my creations are visible here. I hate routine and I am constantly creating new pieces. My available pieces change all the time and I guarantee you will be surprised.
As a mechanical engineer from France with a background in aerospace, I have spent my career in heavy industry. I am grateful for being raised in an environment that nurtured my creativity and passion for hands-on creation. Often called “McGyver” for my ability to make or repair almost anything, I have always had a strong desire to create art and run my own business. My goal has always been to make something unique, new, creative, and unexpected. Over the years, I have honed my special ability to use tools, machines, and techniques to create new objects and artworks in unconventional ways. This journey has led to the creation of unique pieces that gracefully blend technology and art.
My main tools are 3D printers (FDM and DSLM), home-made laser cutter/engraver and a palette of software.
